Cant believe I ended up in this mess with my phone but here goes

Original Nokia N95 (not 8gb), locked to Orange.
Foolishly debranded it a few months ago, and during that changed product code. Now I need it unlocking to use Virgin Liberty Sim.
Turbosim wont work on it at all, and the unlocking shop in town cant get it to unlock either. Its on firmware 31.0.0.17 which I think is the problem.
Now its well out of warranty but i cant afford to brick it with a 'cowboy' attempt.
So my first question, if I go to orange, who i am still with, and pay for the unlock code, will it work, bearing in mind the product code is different due to the debranding?

The unlock is based on the IMEI number, which wouldn't have changed, so you shouldn't have any issues now you've debranded. The product code is Nokias way of giving each software/firmwar variation of the same hardware a unique ID.
