Nokia have been repeatly pulling the source video from Youtube & co for a breach of copyright violation so it could actually be the next incarnation of the 8800...

Looks very nice indeed... but I think it's about time the 8800 series got more than a pretty dress to justify the price.

There was talk of the 8800 series being replaced soon though, so it could also be this is the replacement?

The leaked promotional video calls it the 8800 XXXX but all the web reports are calling it the "Erdos" which seems like quite an authentic name.

I was certainly expecting a new one soon though as its been almost 2 years since the Arte model came out.


Spec wise - this one is surprisingly decent, considering Nokia's usual irreverence with the 88 range.

QVGA resolution OLED screen, 5MP camera with Carl Ziess lense & LED flash, Symbian 60 OS, Wifi, A-GPS, HSPA

The reports claim the glass covering the screen "turns silver" when inactive... although this could just mean they've done an LG Shine job on it and have the screen projecting 'up' through half-mirrored glass...
