Whats the problem ? Phone or Battery ?

Hi folks,

My nokia music express will no longer turn on despite charging.

Have tested the battery with a meter and is running at 2.7 instead of the stated 3.7 & the phone has a very small current running through it with battery out.

Is there anything I can do to see if its a dead battery or phone that is the problem ?

The phone wont turn on at all, not even a quick flash on the screen.

Help or advice gratefully received,

Which model is it?

When you connect the charger (with the phone off) does the phone show that the battery is charging? (Depending on the model you will either see the battery bars or a battery animation).

Hi,

Its the nokia 5310 xpressmusic phone.

When plugged in for charging nothing at all comes up. Just a blank screen.

Funnily enough today I'm having the same problem with my Nokia N97.

Woke up this morning, and it was dead. Thought must be the battery (4 bars when I went to bed) so I've put it on charge at work via the USB and the screen has remained dead (as in not charging).

Very odd and 'slightly' annoying.

If you find a fix please let me know as I still cant get it running. Trying to locate a battery to test as to cheap to folk out £3 on one off flebay

I don't think it's my battery as it won't run off the usb when it's plugged in.

Guess it must be my phone also then as the USB has no effect when used

Just a update for me.

No join with the phone, rang nokia, took it to a care centre of theirs.

They couldn't get it to boot up and have now sent it off to Nokia to see if they have any joy. £10 charge as they couldn't do it in house.

I never got the problem fixed and am not paying for it to get done. Might aswell get a new phone and get something a little better

A small update for those that may be interested.

Managed to track down a battery from a friend of mine. Seemed to fix the problem so now the phone back up & running.
