Lightbulb E63 or something else?

I am in a fix at the minute. I am looking to buy a new phone to replace my current Nokia 6120 classic as the buttons are really getting on my nerves. i have found the Nokia E63 on expansys sim free for £169.99 which fits the bill, however I am wondering is there any other handsets i should consider before placing the order?

Preferably i would like a QWERTY keyboard, wifi built in and 3g speeds as I will be using a bluetooth GPS receiver with the new phone (and Google maps. Obviously, it would be great if I could get a handset with GPS in built. I will be using the handset for email, sms and calls. Not bothered whether it has WM6/6.5 or a.n.other os.

Is there any other handsets which fits my requirements that I should consider? Budget is the same as what I would spend on the E63, so £170

Re: E63 or something else?

I forgot to mention in the OP that I will be using the new handset, whatever it may be, on ASDA mobile (PAYG) if that makes any difference.

Re: E63 or something else?

I've had an E71 - probably the best phone ever made by Nokia - reliable and stanble - E63 should be similar I'd say...

You wouldn't regret it at £167 me thinks....

Will be going into town tomorrow to have a look at one on the Virgin network. if I like the use of it, then I will consider buying on Virgin, if not, then I will buy sim free and use it with my ASDA mobile sim.

Can you tell me, after using your E71, what is your typical data consumption like? Would it be worthwhile getting myself onto a network that offers a data package or would I get away with paying per MB (20p per MB)?

I think E61 in £170 is very cheap I think you should go for it. If its available otherwise as per my research its arround £260.

A little confused by your comment. I think you mean the E63 not the E61? The E63 priced at a maximum of £180 by Nokia. The E71 is priced nearer to your research at £240. The difference between the two are minimal. E63 has no GPS, no metal chassis slightly heavier (1 gram) and slightly thicker (3mm)

Re: E63 or something else?

Just thought I'd post a reply to close this thread. Went into the city centre this morning and bought a Nokia e63 from Virgin Mobile. I got the blue one for £119.99 and then £10 on top. I also took out one of their 30 day contracts @ £10 per month for 200 minutes and unlimited texts (well, 3000 a month) No data attached, however I was told it is 30p per day of usage which works out at £9 a month if used every day.

And I also managed to get ASDA mobile to transfer £8 of credit to the OH mobile number and give me my porting number. To be fair, I was told they could do it yesterday, only to be told differently today.

From the brief use of the new handset, it is fantastic. it feels about right weight wise, the keyboard feels good typing texts and emails and the wifi is very easy to use. Possibly the best handset I have ever owned and that's saying something!

Re: E63 or something else?

I've also pretty much decided on this one as well. I was thinking of the Virgin £18+unlimited web access tariff unless anybody can think of a reason not to. I considered a similar deal on 3 but I borrowed a phone on the 3 network and couldn't get a reliable signal at work.

Re: E63 or something else?

I also considered the three network, but I have previous experience with them and know how weak their signal is in the areas I need to go.

Re: E63 or something else?

Didn't see your data question until now.

Just checked my bill and I used around 65MB last month but I browse and FB quite a lot on my phone.

You could get away with 20MB for emails, light websurfing easily
