Well... I have to say I really like it... a lot!

I got the black/red version, SIM free from the Nokia Shop.
I bought SIM free because all my previous handsets have been subsidised by the network I'm with and so have suffered from having network branded firmware. I decided to go SIM free this time, I've had enough of crap network firmware ruining a phone, that and none of the networks carry the X6 yet, I'm not sure how Phones4U got an exclusive on the X6 in the UK but they sell them tied to Orange contracts.
I was a bit worried buying the X6 because I felt that the N82 that I had was a hard act to follow. Heh, I am very impressed so far. The first couple of days was spent setting it up so I have transferred all my data from my N82 (contacts, calendar entries, music, playlists, video etc.) now I have to make the move from S60v3 apps to S60v5. I'm still getting used to S60v5 from S60v3, loads of my old N82 apps now don't work so I'm looking out for new equivalents, mind you, I can live without quite a few of them. General build quality is excellent, the X6 feels really solid in the hand. Although the back battery cover is razor thin it is clipped down in multiple places (8 I think) so feels secure. Even though my old N82 was very robust it felt a bit creaky/plasticky.
I've seen some friends' 5800, N97 & N97mini and I loathed the resistive touch screen

but I have to say that I have really taken to the X6's capacitive touch screen.

The glass screen... both the touch response and the image quality is the star on this handset.

The OS is pretty stable too, just one inpromptu reset in the week that I've had it so far. The screen is a joy to look at compared to my old N82 (and I didn't think my N82 was that bad until I got the X6). I know the X6 isn't packing an OLED like the N86 or Samsung i8910HD but it's still vibrant and bright for a TFT. Given my hatred for resistive screens on mobiles I am glad I plumped for the X6 and not the N900.
Battery life is great so far... I had a 3 hour drive last week and for the whole journey I was streaming music from my phone to my car stereo using bluetooth A2DP. My N82 could also do this but usually after 3 hours the battery would be pretty much drained, not so with the X6

I started off with full bars and by journey's end she'd only dropped 1 bar. I was happy with that.
So far, one happy camper... My only real complaints:
1.) The 5MP camera lens has no lens cover!!

Come on Nokia!!! This should be standard for all mid to high end camera phones these days.
2.) I didn't notice any uPnP or wlan media streaming capabilities, maybe I've just not found them yet, or maybe the X6 can't do it (I know my old N80 & N82 could). Anyone else know?
3.) A short-coming of the OS is that I can't find a way to customise the left & right softkeys on the homescreen (are these now fixed in S60v5?). The Left softkey is fixed to 'telephone' dialler (which I want to keep) and the Right softkey is set to 'contacts' which I would like to change to 'messages' as there is a link to contacts from the telephone dialler screen but I can't find an option to change the homescreen soft keys (again am I missing something?). I do like the extra S60v5 homescreen hot links from touching the clock / date display / battery symbol /media bar etc... much more flexibility.
I need to do more downloading from the Nokia music store lol, to make the most of my one year's free subscription.

I'm not that fussed that the X6 doesn't make use of a memory card, the on-board 32GB is plenty enough for my needs but I could see that might put others off this handset.
I'm surprised that the X6 doesn't get more of a mention on the forums but maybe that's a good sign... not much to gripe about etc. I thought this model would have generated more interest though, I think it's hiding behind the N900's shadow, a hidden gem.
Hope that helps, just for info, there will be a much cheaper 16GB version released in the new year that won't include the 'Comes With Music' subscription.
