reset code for N95 8gb

Can someone tell me what the code is to reset my phone?

If you mean the code for a factory reset the default one is 12345

Surely a reset just sets it back to standard

How can you get better than that?

Update the firmware if you haven't got the latest. That'll toast everything, as I found to my cost (I lost my phone book).

What exactly are you looking to do?

*#7370# performs a hard reset and wipes everything, so make sure you have a recent backup.

And moving to the Nokia forum, where this should have been posted.

As above that code wipes everything, however to completely reset to factory condition you need to give the handset the three fingered Nokia Salute.

Turn off the handset, hold down the call key, 3 and *. Keeping these firmly held down and get a friend to press the power key. Keep the keys held down until you see the text on the screen about formatting the handset.

This is fiddly and can take a few goes to get right.

Thanks everyone. I was trying to reset the phone so I can sell it, got a new Hero in my life!! It was a fantastic phone though that just got better and better!!

Yes the N95 8Gb was one of Nokia's best ever i think. Took a lot of replacing for me. Neither a 5800 or an N97 were up to the job. Finally happy with an E71.

I had the same problem I waited 6 months after my contract had finished before I found a phone. The N97 was a big disappointment and I nearly went for the E71 but wanted a touch screen and settled on an Hero. I still have the N95 and feel a little reluctant to part with it!!
