Rebel SIM with BB5 SL3 Nokia?

Hi all

I'm looking at buying a new phone, namely the Nokia 5130 but I can't find any good deals on SIM-free phones, only on ones locked to networks (and annoyingly, not mine!).

So, my question is, does anyone know if those SIM unlocking devices (Rebel SIM, i-Smart, etc) work on BB5 SL3 phones like the Nokia 5130?

I've been looking into unlocking the 5130 via code or by getting a pro to do it, but I haven't found any solid information from Googling literally all day!

Can anyone shed any light on an unlocking solution? I'm on O2 and would rather not have to use Tesco Mobile because I can't get the handset unlocked!

EDIT: After a lot of searching and emailing various sellers of these Rebel SIM cards, I've come to the conclusion that they can't be used with newer BB5 Nokias that have Sim Lock 3 on them.

Unhappy Re: Rebel SIM with BB5 SL3 Nokia?

I've just bought a nokia 2700 classic from Tesco and have spent many an (unhappy) hour searching for someone to unlock it for me. It seems the equipment/hardware whatever it is "on it's way" as several market traders/shops tell me. Each one has indicated it could be anything from a week to a month so keep on hanging in there. Like you I don't want to use Tesco. Serves me right for not checking before I bought it .

Any updates on this yet? I've just bought 3 5800's locked to T-Mobile as Christmas Presents. Didn't realise they were sl3 and am finding it hard to get them unlocked.
T-Mobile won't sell me the codes as I haven't been a customer with them for over 3 months

Anybody know what I can do?

Thanks

Don't think 5800s are SL3, I think they're SL2.

See this site: Unlock Nokia E75, 5800, 6110, 6120c, 6120N, 6121c, 6124c, 6210, 6220c, 6650, E51, E66, E71, N78, N81, N81, N79, N85, N82, N95_8GB, N96, 3120C, 3555, 3555b, 5310, 5310B, 5610, 5610D, 6263, 6300i, 6301, 6500S, 6500C, 6555, 7500, 7900, 8800 Arte, 7100s,
It lists 5800 under "Nokia BB5+ SL2 Rapido". £15 ain't too bad either, compared to the £25 I had to fork out to Tesco Mobile to have my 5130 unlocked (SL3)...

Trouble is T-Mobile were out of stock of the red PAYG 5800 so they started giving out the chrome ones that are supposed to be for contract customers. These were originally unlocked but it looks like T-Mobile locked them all before sending them out. Somebody online took one to a market to get it unlocked and was told that they couldn't do it as its a sl3.
Any ideas how I could check if its a sl3?
Thanks
