in game gamma????

onnthe enter the matrix ps2 there is a gamma option,what does this do as i cant see a difference when using it?????

i dont knowe specifically about the matrix game on ps2 but gamma adjustment in its simplest form adjusts the brightness of the midtones without affecting the brightness of black and white values. its often used and useful on pc games in order to see things in dark areas of games without washing out the image.
