NEW! Comp switcher

IGN have revealed that Mad Catz are now selling a component switcher. It has 4 inputs and 1 output (obviously!) It doesnt take digital sound though Im afraid, only analogue.

Im searching for importers who'll ship to UK as its not known weather it'll be avaliable here anytime soon (unlikely)

You can check it out HERE!!!HERE!! and HERE!!!

Looks of decent quality to me

Meh, I've bought my component switcher last year and I'm happy with it. 6 inputs (4 component and S-Video, 2 scart) and can be controlled via remote all for £25. Can't argue with that.

this may seem like a silly question but does that switcher you bought convert the scart rgb in to component???

is there anything that does such a thing (is it even possible?)

the reason i ask is that my scart telly broke and the new ones all have component (scart is rare here in oz) which is only a problem on my dreamcast as i dont have a component cable for it.

cheers in advance.

Nah it doesn't convert an RGB signal into prog.scan.. Dunno if it would output a picture through the component cables though but I doubt it.

There are such devices out there but I can't send a link right now sorry as I should be at work ^_^;; Maybe someone could fill you in for the meantime... If not I'll reply at 1am when I get back.

So tell us where you got it from Neo.

I would stay away from those component video switchers. They just don't have enough bandwidth, and quality to pass through signals without any degrade. Especially, 720p, and 1080i signals.
