prog scan dreamcast

Apparently the output on most Dreamcast games are 480P if used in VGA mode ie on a monitor.

my question is would it be possible to make a component cable for the dreamcast to use on the Tosh xxZD26 for prog scan games? Or indeed, get a VGA to Component adapter to do the same thing?

I too was interested in prog scan from Dreamcast but i think the cost might put me off. It appears that you need a converter box - i had hoped that it would just be a connector issue. A quick search on google threw this up:

http://www.audioauthority.com/vgacomdet.html
http://209.248.228.2/vgacom.html

It is $129

How does VGA relate to PAL and NTSC progressive?

You can of course make a component box yourself but it won't be cheap... Plus without the right skills it would take some time ^_^ Worth doing if you have the ability though. Right now I'm just making a case for all of my consoles as I'm running out of space...
