I ripped some music to my X box last night. Listening to the tunes from the music menu is fine. However when loading them onto the virtual cd option within Project Gotham Racer, they sound quite low in volume when being played during the game.

The original tracks in PGR are fine, however when a ripped tune is being played the volume dips quite significantly.

I know there is an option to increase/decrease the music and sfx effects in this game but when the original music is being played it is fine, however there is a distinct drop in the volume level when playing tracks stored on the hard drive. It means that if I set up the options so that my stored tracks can be heard, then when an original PGR track comes on, I need to re-adjust the volume again as it is too loud!!

Has anyone else noticed this and can anyone explain why this should be the case?

I have the same problem - I don't know why it happens though. Just grin and bear it

I'm afraid the only option is to keep changing the volumes in the menus.

It's probably down to the recorded levels on the CD. I expect all the tracks in the bona fide soundtrack have been normalised. Different CDs can have wildly different levels though. For a start, anything more than five years old sounds quieter than new stuff.

I don't have that problem. You sure there isn't a music volume control ?

I have PGR and Amped and both are find.

JUS are you sure 'cos I have the same problem in sound levels between in game and ripped tunes.

I'm with JUS, I play PGR a lot and have never noticed this problem, however tonight I will actually listen out for it.

Maybe it just depends on the original volume that was recorded on the CD as some are quieter than others.
