Can I get 5.1 using an s video connection + a seperate optical lead from the Xbox ? I seem to remember you can only get 5.1 by using the advanced scart.

You can get an AV pack that has an Svideo out and also an optical out. I think it's called the Advanced AV Pack but I'm not sure. Not sure where you would get it from either but I've definately seen one.

On a seperate note, does the XBox have a coaxial output.

Firstly, you cannot get Coaxial out for the XBOX although I believe you can buy optical to coax convertors (try Maplins).

Secondly, you can get an S-Video version of the official Advanced AV Pack which has optical out plus S-Video out. I am not sure if you can get them in the shops here yet. I got mine from www.lik-sang.com
