Having a spot of bother with wifi

My wifi usb dondle thing came today and its driving me mad.It is a third party device[bad move me thinks].Anyway i have installed the software and plugged the usb device in.If i try to connect to mariokart it tells me error code 52000 unable to obtain ip address.Also the symbol on my task bar tells me the device has limited or no service.Had a google around but no real advice.Any techs got any advice or should i send it back and get the nintendo one.Almost forgot i have a speedtouch modem if that helps.Many thanks.

Nintendos Wifi system is good however is not compatible with all routers.
Thats why they released the USB Dongle at most shops £29.99

Think its sorted now,firewall problems.
