Starcraft ghost Cancelled?

I was a huge huge fan of the Starcraft strategy game on the PC, for me it was by far the best ever game Blizzard made, and the best multiplayer game.

I was looking forward to Starcraft Ghost on the Gamecube, but it seems to have disappeared. It was slated for a March release thus year after endless delays, but I've just been over to look at Blizzard's website and it seems to have disappeared completely. There is no sign that this game ever existed, and is not listed under the Starcraft universe or even game sin development.

Does anyone know if this got canned?

It is reported in the gaming press as being cancled, but some UK games sites have it available for pre-order. On the Blizzard website when you lookup Starcratf Ghost it only mentions PS2 and Xbox as consoles. So to sum up I have no idea?????? I hope it is coming out on gamecube as I am a massive Blizzard fan (but prefered Diablo 1 and 2, and Warcraft 1, 2 and 3)

Thanks, I'll take that as evidence it's died a death.

That's a massive write-off for Blizzard, they only average one release a year, and each game has years in development, as stated in that article, this one had been started almost 4 years ago.

Im just hoping for a Starcraft 2 on PC, no other strategy game was as much fun multiplayer as that, even Age of Empires.

It must be that all the retailers have not been told then, cus Play.com still have it listed too!

In fact everybody has it listed. I can't belive Blizzard would go and devlope a game then not release it, I can only assum they are rewritting it for the next gen of consoles (Xbox 360, Rev and PS3)

According to this article, it looks like the next-gen is its best chance of getting a release…

I can't belive it is canceled only delayed or moved to the next gen platform. It would cost them too much to put it in the bin after developing most of it!

Yeah agreed, especially as it was so close to completion. Id imagine it will be revamped and released on next gen.
