Megadrive/Genesis & TurboGrafx support for Rev's Virtual Console!!

At Satoru Iwata's keynote speech at the GDC yesterday, he revealed, amongst other things, that the Revolution's Virtual Console will not only support the NES, SNES, and N64, but will also carry Sega Genesis & TurboGrafx games as well!! The whole Sega thing had been rumoured for a while, but I hadn't heard a whisper about the TurboGrafx, but given Iwata-san's connection with Hudsonsoft, I guess it's fairly understandable. Will be nice to start playing some of the old Megadrive classics.

He also announced a new Zelda game for the DS: the Phantom Hourglass, which should see release this year, it would seem.

This might just be the greatest console in the world. I love you, Nintendo.

It's a great idea that Sega are letting Ninty use their content. Ultimately I see this as a similar concept to the current Xbox Live Arcade. We all know how well that has gone, so I'm sure both Ninty and Sega will do well out of it.

This really is good news.

I suppose its wishful thinking but if this is a success, do you think it possible for Sega to release some Saturn games for download. Could the Revolution cope with them? Although just realised that they might be a big download.
