New Official Nintendo Mag

Actually, it seems pretty good

Just picked it up for a test, and after reading the first section it seems to be a step up from emap's effort. Just wondered what everyone else thought of it really. I know its not a hardcore read or anything, but my initial impression was positive

yeah i saw that subs offer, might be worth doing hpoom, its a new mag. emap lost the NOM contract to Future who seem to be doing a much better job. Especially where the review scores are concerned. some games actually score below 96% now!

I'm not 100% convinced of that: Emap were very, very good for a long time - CVG and Mean Machines days especially, and the original 3rd party official (yes I know that seems a contradiction in terms, but before that, Nintendo UK - or it may have been in the days when Bandai UK headed up distribution over here - did the Official Nintendo magazine, Nintendo Power, I think it was called, and it sucked) Nintendo mag - Nintendo Magazine System - was highly commendable during the days of the SNES and early N64.

Now, certainly, Future do own the market; especially got to give them credit for Edge - the magazine that really broke the mould, and there's really still nothing to touch it.

Completely agree, been reading the latest Edge this weekend and it's such a great read with articles on Quake Wars; XBLA; SCi as well as retro feature on ET. I'll be subscribing this for a long time as long as they keep up the quality.
