Not played Nintendo since N64

I've not been into console gaming since the N64 and thought I might get a game Cube and some games since it's a bit thin on the ground for PC titles at the moment.

Anyone know of any good bundles going at the moment?

If you could also recomend any essential must have games that'd be good too. I'm really looking for quality single player titles (mainly rpg's and FPs's) and I'm not overly keen on driving games.
Like I've said I've not had a console for a number of years and I've lost touch so I'm sure I must've missed a few corkers (is zelda still around?).

any advice pointers would be appreciated

Zelda is still around and a new one is just about knocking on the door! Should be ready before the Summer, and looks like it could be one of the best ever.

Gamecube is a great choice for single player, the Metroid series, Zelda WInd Waker, Mario Sunshine, plus some great party titles for fourplayers, including Smash Brothers, Mario Tennis, Wario Ware, the Mario Party titles, I could go on.

As it happens I am selling mine.

Must haves imo are:

Metroid Prime
Resident Evil 4
Zelda: Wind Waker
Paper Mario 2
Eternal Darkness
Pikmin2
Super Monkey Ball 2

Argos was doing a bundle a while back for £50, not sure if it's still on though.

Metroid Prime has to be played to be believed.

I found the second one to be unnecessarily frustrating and just not as fun because of it.

I found Viewtiful Joe really hard (couldn't get past the Shark) so swapped it for F-Zero GX.

If only I'd known.

I'd heartily recommend:

Eternal Darkness - Amazing adventure game with some real innovation.

Super Mario Sunshine - Platforming at its finest.

Timesplitters II - Great FPS that is amazing with the GC controller.

Zelda:Wind Waker - Good fun, boat parts can get tedious though.

Mario Golf - I hated golf in every form before playing this gem.

Killer 7 - Haven't fully played this yet but its sitting on my 'To Do' pile.

*edit* How could I have forgotton Pikmin, Paper Mario 2, F Zero GX and Viewtiful Joe?

I did end up buying the resident evil 4 bundle but had to pay £80 for it but that's not too bad I suppose I also ordered Eternal darkness, metriod prime and zelda windwalker (couldn't find viewtiful joe anywhere is the second one worth purchasing?). I bought a memory card and an official RGB scart cable to hopefully improve the PQ, but, is there anything else I need?
Really looking forward to getting stuck into these games as it's been a while since I've had a console. Hopefully It should arrive by the weekend and I've also got Monday off work too

Was really tempted to get the xbox360 but a lot of the titles coming out for that will be released for the pc.
Hopefully the Gamecube will be a refreshing change from my usually PC gaming

I can’t play RE in the dark, I find it just too scary. I remember playing Code Veronica which had so many jumps which scared the bejesus out of me. Now that I’ve got a surround sound system I dare not switch the lights off!

All this talk of chainsaws reminded me of this clip, you might get a giggle, but it is not an example of good parenting.
