From what you say I'd go for the DS, most of the games are aimed at people who like to just pick up & play and who just want to play for fun.

TBH out of the DS games I've played, I haven't even needed to take any of the instruction books out of the boxes.

Besides, you can play any of the GBA games on the DS anyway so the only point in buying the micro would be if you want something tiny compact that you can fit in your pocket(not a DS strength )

I've never really been a fan of the Sonic Games, seem to hit a bumper and wait 2 mins holding right on the d-pad until you cross the finish line

I'm loving Trauma Centre - Under The Knife at the moment. Not out in the UK for a few months but can be imported quite easily. You use the Stylus to perform operations on patients (disinfect the skin, cut them open, remove tumor, stitch them up again) really good fun, gets quite tense when a patient flatlines halfway through surgery and you have to revive them!

I use videogamesplus.ca

They're Canadian based, cheaper than the UK, quick to post items out (had one posted 2 hours after ordering once) and will mark items down so the customs tax man doesn't get his dirty little hands on it.

You can play it while it's charging too :D

excellent mate thanks.

Yep I gave in. Takes a bit of getting used to the dual screen lark.

Fantastic fun though Mario Kart is the bomb and sonic is crazy.

Thanks again all Im glad you convinced me.
