Revolution launch titles?

Allegedly the revolution will be out for xmas next year, does anyone have a list, or an idea about what games are coming out for launch or are in development?

I would love to see Pikmin 3 and a new Metroid game!

How tiring would your hands and arms get after a hour of playing with this controller?. It looks good, makes you want the console and without showing game footage is a feat.

Apparently the upcoming Gamecube game Zelda:Twilight Princess (delayed again ) will make use of the new controller if played on the Revolution.

Alleged info

This could be pure gaming heaven if it all works out. If I could pre-order it all today I would!

Can't be worse than sunshine eh?!

The controller put me off TBH, can't see it working very well. But you can get proper controllers for it though.

I thought Sunshine was brilliant myself, not as good as 64 though but still brilliant

Anyway, the controller comes with a cradle that is in a wavebird style so no problem there

BTW, people who I know who have used the controller say it is excellent

I'm hoping for a Star Wars Jedi game were you get to use the controller as a light sabre.

I'd also like some sort of party game that used the controller fully too.

Add in a new mario game and a new pilot wings then I think you are talking a strong set of launch titles.

Couldn't get into Sunshine myself, just didn't have the magic the predecessor had imo. Only got half-waythrough before I gave up... but hang on I do that with most games!

It would have been a good game apart from the camera! It was the worst I think I have ever experienced. Made the game unplayable in areas.

i'm hopeing for some orginal games not blah blah 5 (obviously not a real name).

If anyone can do it Nintendo can they make the greatest games after Square. IS Rareware still half owned by Nintendo or did Microsoft steal it?

Here is a U.S. release list: http://revolution.ign.com/index/release.html
Nine of the sixteen seem to be Revolution exclusives. Including a Metroid game.

It also looks like there will be a Pikmin game:

But that's not a launch list, I doubt we'll see Zelda revo for launch although hopefully a Mario revo launch title would do nicely!

Bring on the Revolution

I agree about Pilotwings - classic gaming.. Along with a new super slick F-zero, Waverace and Metroid Prime

I can't wait to see how the new controllers will work though
Trust Nintendo to come up with something new

It'll be nice to see a brand new Mario world as well.. I must admit "Mario Sunshine" wasn't as good as i was hoping for

It's a shame Rare bailed out though.. A new Jet Force Jemini would of been the icing on the cake

Jet Force Gemini, I'd forgotten about that gem. Maybe that means we'll get a nice upgrade on the 360!

Every single person that's reported after trying the new controller has said that it's perfectly responsive and works extremely well.

I hope I am proved wrong mate, really!

I love my Nintendo DS, I have sold my PSP, as I never play on it, because the DS takes up so much of my gaming time.

This doesn't stop the DS touchpad being a gimmick. I have yet to see a truely astonishing use of it yet, Nintendogs being the best so far, but no game has really used the touchpad in such a way that the buttons and crosshair are void or wouldn't be able to be used in the absence of a touchpad. Mario 64 DS is woeful on the touchscreen and gave my hands cramps trying to use it. Only the mini games on that use it well, but most of them are short and boring.

The Revolution controller smacks of the same to me, but as long as there is an alternative controller if this new one sucks, which there is, I am fine and dandy and looking forward to it.

But surely there is so much more potential with the controller than the DS' touchpad? I mean if the controller is responsive it will open up a whole new dimension to gaming.

Personally can't wait for the Revolution. Here's my $0.02:

1. I'd actually quite like it if they kept the name Revolution - it's a great name. However, Ninty have a habit of ditching good codenames for bland go-to-market names (Dolphin, anyone? )

2. My idea for a killer-app game would be Table Tennis Revolution. Simple, really. You play table-tennis with the controller - with a first-person perspective of one side of the table. The kicker would be that it would be online-enabled, allowing you to play other folk across the world.

Cheers,

Launch titles or not I'm picking up a Revo the moment I can import one just for the breath of fresh air it will bring to gaming.

All the competitors can offer is the same old gaming experience with a higher resolution - Viva la Revolution for bringing something different.

All Nintendo have to do is package some of the game styles that were shown in the Revo preview trailer as mini games/demos along with the console and it will be a surefire hit.

Truthfully, since I saw the controller demo all other gaming platforms don't seem interesting any more.

Is it confirmed they'll have a normal controller? Don't really fancy the wand one for a long gaming session.

Launch titles: Would love to see a new mario kart and f zero, imagine those online Like those mario kart mini games where you have to destroy the bubbles on your opponents karts, that will be bloody awesome.

Nintendo have confirmed that the wand will plug into a shell controller for normal games and emulation. Looks like IGN were right with their Wavebird style mock up...

I do think they need a more conventional controller as I don’t believe the wand will work with all types of games. The real question is whether a conventional controller gets bundled with the console or not.

The "wand" if that is what it is called, would be woeful for beat-em-ups and FPS games, and dire for driving games as well.

I agree with Crispy, that's the main reason why I'm looking forward to it so much. Seems like the ideal control for a FPS game, actually ising it as a gun, with trigger in place!
