Nintendo has revealed some of the possible specs of the Revolution system, and at first glance, spec wise, it seems to be no better than an over clocked gamecube.
The CPU and GPU are extensions of the current Gamecube specs.
I know that specs arent everything, but they do also tell what the system will be capable of and what it wont be capable of.
I think that if these specs are true, I doubt Revo will be capable of anything higher than 480p, and No AA or AF.
Still, thats not what constitutes a good game, but it also means we wont see any graphical improvements in future mario or other nintendo titles.
Looks to me like ninty feel like the cube was underused/underapreaciated by developers and customers alike and they are basicaly repacking it in a new box, and giving it a new controller. (thus extending the life cycle of the gamecube)
I do beleive that there is still a lot the Gamecube can do, but the masses like new shiny toys.
The Dreamcast was in a similar position to the gamecube now.
Even today, the DC can produce similar quality graphics and sometimes even better to what the PS2 can do. (which is considered to be a current gen system even though it doesnt hold a candle to the xbox or the gamecube.)
A bit dissapointing really. But as the saying goes, "Its not how powerfull it is, its how you use it."
