Got my m3 a few days ago from divineo.co.uk , superb bit of kit , much better than the flash2 advance I had for my sp. Everthing I've tried so far works perfectly (roms , music, pics etc) and as it uses cf cards your not restricted memory wise like with the old f2a cartridges.

Are there any benefits with the sd version, size is supposed to be same as cf version and at the mo u can get much larger cf cards than you can sd cards .

Not really, some say it's faster but overall I think it's the same. I would go for SD as I already have 1GB SD card.

When the M3-SD was launched, it had very poor support for different brands of SD cards, whereas the firmware for the M3-CF was very stable as it had been released about 3 months earlier and had several updates improving stability etc. Now that the M3-SD firmware has also been updated and improved, the M3-SD looks to be the better of the two. An upcoming version 13 firmware update, hints that the M3-SD will be able to reach higher speeds due to its components. So at least on paper, it looks like the M3-SD will be the better of the two, speedwise.

Am I right in saying this will allow you to play *ahem* backup ROM's?

Looking for a way to let my daughter play MP3's and videos, but if this unit does ROM's aswell then that means it a defo!
