Resident Evil 4

I know theres been a post about this already, but after playing this game again last night and getting to the final chapter where i will leave it until tonight, i onestly can say this is the best game i have ever played, i have never been immersed into a character so much on a computer game its like a movie, everything about it is flawless, i cannot pick any faults whatsoever.

It just keeps you coming back for more over and over, i love the cut scenes most games expect you to sit back and relax during cut scenes, but on resi 4 you have to be ready for some split second reactions when it asks you to
take part in them which i think is great and should be used more often in games.

Anyway i just wanted to say how much i am loving this game, it will be a shame when it all comes to an end later on tonight as i complete it.

'Tis indeed a great game.

The only flaw for me, are the bits where you suddenly have to hit a combination of buttons during a cut scene. The amount of time it gives you seems way too harsh. Maybe it's just me, but on a couple of them, it seemed you'd never be able to do it in time unless you knew it was coming. The saving grace is that it usually restarts you from a point just before you died, so at least you don't have to go back to a save point.

How many chapters are there? I'm think I'm on about 3-2 or 3-3 (in the castle) and I'm still on Disc one!

Can anyone confirm whether Capcom have removed Progressive Scan capability from the PAL version of Resident Evil 4?

I have a PAL ResE4 and Gamecube, and Component Cables ordered direct from Nintendo, but the 'cube is not sending a progressive signal to my TV.

Is there a way to fix this? The cube has a dearth of visual options in its system menu. I hope I don't have to take the game back and order an NTSC copy with Freeloader to enjoy the game at its best

This game is great!

Unfortunately i managed to complete it at the weekend! Its the first game i've completed at all, but the 'bonus features' it gives you when complete are excellent, much more than i expected! took me about 22 hours, i wasnt rushing though, i just wanted to last!
However i did think the last boss was quite easy compared to others, what do you guys think?

Bring on RE5!

Rob

Not 100% sure, but I believe the only way to get prog scan out of a PAL Cube is to use NTSC games and freeloader (and obviously component cable). Although if you search on here there is a bit of contention whether a PAL cube will do PS at all, some people manage it and some dont.

I agree the last boss, was easier than say that merchanary chap before him,

I completed in 33 Hours on Medium, i play quite a few games but rarely complete any as i get bored very easily, not on this game though, we have 2 Copies in the house mine (U.S) and my sisters BF (PAL) he completed it in 29 Hours on Easy (not sure why he started on easy)

I e mailed capcom after i completed this game just to say how amazing i thought the game was (never had that urge with any other game before), they replied to me and said thanks for the comments and they see no reason why Resident evil 5 wont follow in simular fasion on the Revolution, (as i did mention that i hope it comes to Nintendos next console as its the only one i will bother buying)

Can't answer that directly as I have the US version (playing in Progressive )

Did you hold down the red button while booting up? You need to do that to get the "Do you want to turn on progressive scan?" option.

You will prob find its fanboys of other system saying that, i have read about 5 reviews (all prior to buying) and every single one mentions the visuals as some of the best on any game on any console to date, and i agree

This game seems to be sold out in most stores, which is irritating as i've been itching to play this for a while. Went to Game yesterday and they had some on display but when i went to purchase they said it was sold out, how stupid at least other stores don't display things they dont have in stock. Anyway bought baten kaitos instead, interesting game, not fantastic but it'll do for now.

Yeah it's a tidy game this one. I must confess that i've had it ages (a mate picked it up in the states for me about a week after launch) and i'm only about 3-something (the Castle bit). I keep coming back to it though and i've thourally enjoyed it so far!
