How do i know if my PSTwo has Progressive Scan activated?

Hi,

Forgive me for asking such a silly question but how do i know whether Progressive Scan is activated on my new Slim line PS2?

I've read through the manual and it says its in the DVDPlayer section in the configuration menu but there is nothing to select.

Do i actually need to connect up a component cable to the console first?

In the settings menu(turn console on without disc in drive) then you need to change the video output from RGB to Y, Pb,Pr and connect a Component Video Cable to your Tv and then you will get Progressive Scan from compatible games.
