To get a PAL xbox to work in hi-def requires you to mod and switch it over to NTSc anyhow - the X2VGA will NOT work with a PAL box - trust me I've tried it...

so even if i switch to nstc high def output (which i can do, my xbox is chipped already) it wont work? why surely its the same output as an american or japanese console would give to the x2vga unit?

Sorry - I obviously mis-understood your point - if using your chip to switch to NTSC then the X2VGA WILL work, but it does need to be set to NTSC.
