Can anyone confim that the UK version of GT4 has any HI DEF options (480p, 720p or 1080i ), or have those gits at Sony removed them.

The NTSC version has only 480p and 1080i. Seems a couple of bods have the UK one according to this forum..

No Hi Def option for the UK version im afraid. Im annoyed about that because I received my PS2 component cable for any 1080i mode if they included it..

Yeah didn't think that they would include it in the UK version. I guess the US version is the one to go for then.

My only gripe with the game is during playback of race in normal viewing(not hi-def) the image sort of 'shudders' its bloomin annoying. Does it do this on PAL release or is it just NTSC/JAP version that does it?
Altogether though game is v good, especially Nurgburgring

Personally I much prefer to play PGR2, can't say that this impressed me at all really.

Matt | Reading GTPlanet.net, the shuddering and jaggies that are present in USA/JAP NTSC version have been cured and removed from the PAL release. Apparently the graphics in normal mode are much better in the PAL version, however, having said that I really wanted this game for the 1080i gaming aspect, shame it got stripped.
Although Nurburgring rocks big time!!

You could always get a 2nd hand NTSC PS2 on ebay. Then an NTSC version of GT4. Im not trying to rub salt into the wound but there is a real difference when in 1080i much, much sharper. More noticeable on a projector or larger LCD. And gotta say again Nurburgring definately rocks BIG time. Flat out in a Castrol Tom Supra tightens even MY stomach Feels much faster and realistic than on same track on PGR2. Matt

Best €14 I've ever spent No game logos on that screen shot
Going back to Hi-Def, I really can't justify buying a US PS2 and GT4 disc just to be able to play in 1080i, me thinks I'll wait for GT5 & PS3.

Matt | Nope just my daily runner... 1998 Mercedes-Benz C240 Sport. It (the 'Ring not my car ) is classed as a private oneway toll road so €14 Euros buys you one lap of the 'Ring or you get a slight discount if you buy a book of 5 tickets. The 'Ring is available to anyone with a valid road vehicle so yes there are tourist coaches that drive round too as well as motor bikes. So long as you aren't silly you're okay, people who come off don't usually take others with them though no doubt it has happened. Having said that, on the day I was there a guy from the UK totalled his Evo VII wound up in hospital and had a hefty bill for armco (barrier) repair but then he did go out with 7 other mates/cars all in Evos and Scoobies, recipe for disaster imho.
