Question Setting up X-box live

Hi. I was wondering how to get my xbox set up for xbox live. I have a broadband connection downstairs and I want to play on X-box live upstairs. The wireless options are too exspensive. My only option appears to be to connect a broadband wire from my broadband connection downstairs, drill a hole in my ceiling, and plug the cable into my xbox.
This sounds like a lot of hard work, . Is there an easier option?

Thanks guys.

theres only 2 ways to do it, and the wireless isnt for you so the only option left is to run a cable in the house. it is alot of work but it depends on how much you want xbox live.
or you could maybe get some used wireless stuff??
