where did you read this? sounds a little fake to me, i doubt very much sony would release a new version of the ps2 the same price as the old style ps2

It is totally true - new, slimmer model but with the same components - if you cracked open a 50003 model PS2 there was huge amounts of dead space, so Sony got busy and reduced the size by around 75% i believe..

If you pop into your nearest dixons they should have a small poster advertising the new console, asking you to pre-order and all that guff. Displays date as 29th October but not the price, so i asked one of the guys instore and its says on their computer that it will be same price at £104
