Halo 2 Leaked...

Some of you may know already but this has been leaked.

The only good news is that it isn't in english (apart from subtitles)

This could seriously ruin the multiplayer version as how will people resist playing this when it isn't out for a month, therefore meaning you will have loads of people who will have a head start on the maps etc....

I wonder is this will force them to bring the release date forward (fingers crossed)

Unless it was a deliberate leak with a nice trojan horse inside...

First of all you need a modded Xbox as it will only play on this
secondly a torrent is a form of peer 2 peer software
where some on has this in his torrent client and is allowing people to
download this from him (seeding)on the understanding that they will allow people to take at the very least a ratio of 1to1 from what they have downloaded to keep the torrent alive the are web site with more info but that is the basics of it you can do a Google search on bit torrent to get more info

TORRENT is also the lowest of the low in terms of file sharing. To be avoided at all costs as its often mislabelled virus and crap
dump sites

Depends on your source of torrents, Gnutella and edonkey is a far larger source of that rubbish.

Please be aware that is against the forum rules to request links to sites of illegal material. Discussion of it is fine, but not requests or provision of illegal software.

I've used bittorrent for bits and pieces for a while and I've found it to be far superior to other types of P2P. Sometimes you get nowhere with files and servers often crash but I've had 120k/b sec DL's from there and never had a problem with any of the files. Kazaa is full of mislabelled stuff, edonkey is slow.

This may be your point of veiw of torrents but I have never had any probs with this also you do need the proper security functions in place i.e. that it passes though a fire wall but also get virus checked at the same time also other forms of firewalls are needed like protowall etc
Also the source has to be good there are better sites than others
that work with in better controls

There are no problems with linking to the Bittorrent homepage for instance, however, there is a problem with requesting or linking to a site that provides illegal torrents of pirate software.

We are trying to clear up the modification/piracy rules at the moment, it is a grey area that needs attention.

It's funny you mention a virus. The latest reports on this release are that it wipes your hard-drive after a while...

I was just going to mention this. As a moderator of the forum, should you be letting people discuss where to find this? Also, should you be letting people even mention downloading/playing it when it's clearly an illegal copy? There's far too much piracy discussion on these forums, IMHO

I agree with RL123 on this.Anyone who talks about any part of this game that hasn't been made public by Bungie should get a ban,as the only way they can play this is through piracy.

Its funny how acceptable theft is nowadays.

What about Bungie? Producers? Distributors? Retailers? How many retailers are going to lose a majority of their sales because most of their customers have chosen to download it instead?

There's more people involved in making a game than Bill Gates

is this the xbox or pc version?
that talk of it wiping out your hard drive sounds well dodgy.
doesnt seem worth it if it did do that, best off waiting for the official release, especially if it hsnt got english audio too.

I totally disagree people are downloadingn this to get an insight into the game before release but most people will be buying this as you are unable to play this version on the xbox live systems.
but the people who have this will know the maps better than those who havan't done this not having a modded xbox myself there is no point for me to download this but i do know people who are.
Now on to the subject of another post on this thread regarding talking about this hhhhmmm something called freedom of speach comes to mind and for some who appears to be discusted with this sort of post how comes you bother reading it bet you dont think the pron forums should be banned aswell?? (mary whitehouse news letter readers)
Bet these people have used other p2p software like Kazzaa etc atleast once
then have the front to come on here and moan about it

As for P.C. version there will most likely be a version sometime after the xbox one as their was in the first on

Has most people been living under a shell for the last year or so on this thread

Surely if you download the torrent to play the game early and then buy the game on release you haven't really stollen anything. The good thing is that most XBox games are best played on live meaning that the original must be bought anyway. If I download games early I treat them as demo's and buy the official game on release.

And if you don't like them, you won't buy them? Hence, theft as you've used something without paying for it/owning it

Only777, got a link to that information about the virus? I'd love it if that were true...serves all the pirates right for getting it and then boasting about it on every single forum I've been on today

Exactly what I was going to say (LFC Fan). You also get the chance to play games before you buy via demos and in shops so I don't view it any different. I won't pay for (or if i've bought it, keep) a poor game either way. I will always pay for (or keep) decent games though. This simply pushes up the quality of games as if systems were in place were you couldn't download or return poor games to the shop then developers could release any old tosh!

I'm personally all for pay per play (as i've mentioned countless times before) where a game gets more revenue the longer you have it on your hard drive. Poor games get poor revenue and great games get great revenue. I guess that's a rather right wing view of games retailing but I believe it would weed out the poor developers & increase the quality of games no end. I'd rather have 50 games released a year which are all of superb quality than 500 of which there may only be 5 superb titles. I don't think that limits choice as you'd still find all of the genres catered for, but with generally higher quality titles than we have now.
