Pokemon Coliseum..just me?

Hi guys
Is it just me or is anyone else enjoying the engrossing Pokemon masterpiece?
As an older gamer of **cough 40ish cough** i'm finding this game brilliant. IMO this is how Pokemon should be shown and enjoyed and i've not even gotten round to linking up my GBA to transfer my Pokemnon for the battle arena yet.
Just having so much fun i had to put fingers to keyboard to tell the world

I finished the original Pokemon on my Gameboy (Blue I think I've got) and was tempted by this. Is it any good single player without Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby etc?

I find it is very playable. I finished Red on my GB ages ago and played through Yellow and got quite far in Gold and am playing Sapphire just now.
One thing i will say is the long term lastability will not be there. I've been playing it for 16 hours now and still not finished but you don't catch Pokemon in quite the same way and although i've got a few there won't be the number of Pokemon available in Colosseum as in the handheld ones.
Bottom line if you like Pokemon at all i would say this a good buy.

Was it the composite cable to blame?

cable

yup,
strange because you would think if it was faulty it would just not work!but it seemed to mess up the coulors, new cable sorted it anyway
can you get a digital cable for this such as s-video or optical?the i have replaced old cable with scart but this means i have to put scart into tv and sound through my amp, would rather have it all through amp

dennis - re your cable question, afaik the cube will not output an s-video signal, well a PAL GC anyway, but i'm sure someone will shed some light wether or not a US/JAP GC will.

I think the Pokemon games are fantastic . Love to play Coliseum. Shame some people write it off as a 'kid's' game (and the GameCube as a 'toy'). Isn't this what gaming is all about? Us having fun?

Right thre with you on that one BlueOrange. There's something in Pokemon that just holds my attention and keeps me comeing back for more. The cartoons , pinball game all the stuff(except Pokemon channel which i've not tried yet) have that magic replay quality which i don't find in a lot of "adult" games on consols and pc's these days.
Maybe we're all just little kids at heart?

I have it but I haven't played it much (too busy with Final Fantasy 8 and Majora's Mask) I really like it though and I'll play it through soon

It felt like a bit of a cop-out though, having no wild pokemon but the rest of the game is still very good
