just hoping this is true would console me (geddit?) re: not getting an xbox cheap from sainsburys...

dont suppose u got any details on if its just the console or if there are any games with any of the packs do you? also can i ask if they were marked at full price and scanned cheap?

Nothing to tell em, if the stock still has full price on it take it up and ask it to be scanned.

I bought the GBA SP pokemon sapphire pack today for £50 and it was marked up as £104.99

has anybody managed to get xbox from any store at this price? My local WHSmiths dont have any at this price, even on scanning the shop box.

hmmm, what a suprise, the 2 Smith's nearest to me both claim to be 'out of stock' of all consoles!. Wonder if the staff bought them all??!!hmm

Mrs Bloke just visited Smiths in Leatherhead...and nothing is in a sale. They don't even know about it. She took 3 XBox games to the counter and the guy asked for £120!!! "What promotion is that then?" he asked...

They did have the Pokemon GBA SP - but that was marked up at £49.99...reduced from £105.

I reckon you must have got lucky there.
Just tried the Mansfield branch, and yes they have a sale on, but the only SP's thay have in the sale are blue ones at £49.99, and they haven't got any of those in stock I even got her to scan one of the others, and that came up at £105
Oh well, it was worth a try.

just been to the smiths in brum and surprise surprise they were all gone

all went by saturday apparently - they did have some left in stock but they werent reduced (some xboxes and 1 silver ps2 the lady said)

another one i missed out on..

Tunbridge Wells sold out of everything too. The assistant was fully aware of the sale, and said the closest branch he knew of that had any stock left was Ilford in Essex. Which is a bit too far for me.... Shame.

Well, I went to my local WH Smiths in the Merry Hill centre Dudley, and they had no consoles on offer. The assistant scanned a Xbox for me, and it was £129.99 or something.

I saw PC PoP too for £9.99, but already have it for the XBox.

just got my sis to look at the one in cheltenham - not entirely sure what she said but they claimed not to know about any promotion...

maybe it was on and she just didnt get it scanned though - ill find out later :/

Just been to the WH smiths in Manchester and they didn't have any X-boxes, PS2's or Gamecubes, they did have SP's but at £105, they did have a few cheap games though, and i got Dancing stage megamix and a dance mat all packaged in a nice rucksack for £4.99. It ain't for me!! Honest!!

It seems that we are drumming up business for smith's with this post!!! coz i certainly never think of going into smith's for my games. I did manage to find a store near me that had GBA's in stock and got the lady to scan the box for me, and guess what £84.99(Black and Silver). As for games, there were some bargains, but notrhing much took my fancy, either had it or it was crap. Except Pro Evo 3 for PC for £12, might have to go back for that one.
