Metroid Prime: Echoes Multiplayer

Well I'm really enjoying playing Metroid Prime on the GC at the moment, but was a bit taken aback when I heard about this proposed multiplayer version for the GC. Just can't really see it working, are there any other multiplayer games of this type already around - being new to gaming this just seems over complex. But then again I'm not very good on the single player version!

Glad to hear you are enjoying 'Metroid Prime' it is a superb game. Apparently there are no supported Nintendo servers, so the best you can hope for ATM for online gamecube is a sort-of LAN network play, I might be wrong.

Hi Games Guru,

From the screen shots and description, 4 players, 1 GC is all that is required.

It offer split screen gaming for it, although I also expect it to have LAN play like Mario Kart.

The GC was never designed for "online" play but for units to be connected in a LAN, there is Warp Pipe however which enables distance playing over the web

I can't wait for this, it looks awesome

Hi eviljohn2,

Split screen yes, but looks like LAN play is not in the mix.

Shame about LAN, I think it could be a great feature - basically having LAN parties with 'Cubes but there just aren't the games to support it
Just Mario Kart and 1080 and I think there's one more too.

Kirby's Air Ride. But from what I've heard, it's fairly pap.

Nintendo really need to sort out some online play, maybe with an option to trade in LAN versions of games for Online versions, that would be great

I doubt the GC will see many online titles.

I was hoping that Metroid would offer co-op gameplay rather than deathmatch.

It would be nice to see more co-op modes in games, it is a lost genre at the moment (MMORPGs excluded!).
