E3 2004

Hi guys,

I have just watched a few of the videos from E3 this year, and here are my views:

Doom 3 looks absolutely I think it was an Xbox video I saw and the graphics were quite awful. the framerate is very low, with poor animation and lots of jaggies. IMO they should have released this last year, as it just looks dated now.

Halo 2 looks very very good. Seeing this video after Doom 3 made it look even better probably. The physics at work here are very nice, with the vehicle taking damage and being thrown about by the big wepons. The video I saw was a CTF map with a master cheif type guy and a covenant showing what can be done. This has really impressed me, so I can see ANOTHER Xbox purchase on the horizon.

The HalfLife 2 video I have seen is an interview with someone from valve. It has some gameplay clicps, but nothing new from what I could see. It doesn't look to have changed much from the last lot of videos I saw (was that last years E3 videos???? ) and still looks very nice. I hope to see some new footage soon. The game is apparently at Alpha now, and will be hitting Beta stage shortly, and they are hoping for a Summer release. So am I.

Those are the main things I remember so far, I would like to hear everyone elses thoughts on what they see etc.

Cheers

Rob.

P.S I don't know about you guys, but E3 makes me feel happy being a gamer, and gets me quite excited about forthcoming titles.....lets just hope we get to play some of them this year.

Yeah it looks really awesome, I really hope they also do away with the simple puzzles/enemies of the latest Zeldas and get back to the old hardcore puzzles/enemies of the NES/SNES.

Looks like it has hordes of enemies to fight, I wonder what the story is?

The Zelda video was fantastic...easily the highlight of the show so far, IMO

So much for 'The GC couldn't handle a realistic Zelda'

The trailer just says 2005. I'd guess between June-November 2005

The highlight of E3 for me was the Sony PSP. It looks absolutely awesome, bit on the big side but spectatular all the same. The Nintendo DS looked nice but I have a feeling that Sony may very well win the handheld market.
