Alternative X-box controllers to controller S?

Does any company do an X-box controller with similar layout to controller S but a bit bigger?

Just bought an X-box this weekend, and while the layout of controls is fine, the pad feels a bit small in my hands and I'm not entirely comfortable holding it.

If you fancy swapping one of your annoyingly small contollers for an annoyingly large one, then I have a unoficcial second controller thats about a month out of the packing, if you'd like.

Try Microsofts original controller. The s-type is a smaller version of this, except the two buttons at the bottom right of the pad are on the top right on the original.
Interesting you are not happy with the controller. I discovered on this forum that more console gamers prefer the Xbox s-type controller to any other.
I carried out a survey a little while back. Here is the link
I bought myself an original controller, then I bought an s-type which I discovered was much easier to use.

I had always preferred the original, big controller, but I just assumed that I would like the S-controller too if I bothered to give it a go.

Well, during some rather hectic Halo multiplayer gaming over the holidays, I realized that I hate the S-controller. It's not the size or shape that bothers me, it's the size and spacing of the 4 main buttons (A, B, X, Y). With the original controller, I can be touching all 4 buttons with my thumb, for easy access to either of them. With the S-controller, I've either got to hover in the air between presses, or park my thumb in the gap between all the buttons. I found that my reaction time for finding the buttons is much faster on the big controller as my thumb is always touching them, even when not doing anything.

Hope this makes sense. Monster controller for life!

Maybe most people with an X-box have small hands? Must say I always found the official Playstation joypads too small for real comfort too...

I got my Xbox with a controller S and I love it - it's definitely the best joypad I've ever used.

I haven't used the old style 'big' controller in anger, though I have tried it in shops and I just didn't like it.

Bear in mind that I also like the my Dreamcast controllers which are quite a bit bigger than the S, so it's not just a size thing.

Logitech do a wireless controller which has a layout like sort of a hybrid between the S and old style controllers.

It's got positive reviews in most places that have reviewed it (example: http://www.maxgameplayer.com/Chong/c...ITECH_XBOX.asp)

I'm tempted to get one myself, but they are pretty expensive.

I prefer the S controller. We've only had it for a while, not used to it but I'm not even used to the original controller. When my Dad got an XBox, he got an S controller. He hated it so he traded it for an original controller. Now he wants to try it out and bought one on these forums! LOL! Make up your mind Dad!
