I got the game along with the console last week and I am currently ranked 10th in the world. My problem is whenever I go on line I get hammered barely winning a point and barely having a rally.
My skills are

Serve 3 stars
Forhand 4 stars
Backhand 4 stars
Volley 2 stars

I must admit I have only played 3 games on line and they were ranked a few hundred above me and my first 2 games my player was not trained.
My skills are

Return Serve
Angle shots
Ace

I have one more star availalable what skill should I use the star on? I win points mostly on bakhands 520 points I have won using backhand compared to 309 forhands and 120 volleys with 50 aces. I just dont want to waste my last star or skill so need advice what to use them on and any other tips like returning serves or serving.

LOL LOL LOL LOL I have exactly the same problem I was ranked 11th until I lost my career save file !!! (dont know how though !) so starting again from the begining !. Anyway I get thrashed exactly the same way. I've played about 8-10 games 3 setters and got whitewashed in ALL of them !. Maybe we could meet up on live and play a couple of games !! see how that goes

LOl yeah ok my tag name is Tony 7. I just want to rise the rankings on line. I find it hard in the game too as the top players like Sampres manage to get to my shots which look like they are imposible to get to.
I played agaisnt an American last night had to turn the volume down because he sounded about 16 and was shouting with his friends calling the English faggets etc.
It is hard to find an oppentn around me I have to keep playing people who are about 200 places above me.

Guys make sure you get ranked 1st offline it really helps online.
also you need to use the risk serve online & mix your play up or it'll be too easy to read your play.
When they serve use the slice return down the line & move to the net fast.
This will make it hard to pass you with a passing shot ect.
also try to use the topspin shot cross court you'll will hopefully get their player off balance & win the point.
Hope that helps, i was ranked top 40 on live but there are way too many cheaters so mine is going back.

Well when your ready to serve they start a download on the pc yeah?
Meaning there is no chance to use the risk serve with all that lag.
but when they serve the game is fine then it's back to your turn & guess what? yep thats right lag

That sucks.

My character is all about the service game.

I have 5 serve stars, powerful natural trait and one of my mastery things is ace and risk shot.

All my serves are perfect and around 143mph.

I haven't encountered cheats yet though.

Yeah it doe's suck & i also could serve at 143 but not with the lag.
Don't get me wrong there are some top people on top-spin, but there are a fair few cheats aswell.
Hopefully you won't meet them on it but if you do you'll know for sure what they are doing.
