Is Animal Crossing THAT good?

I've been looking at some reviews and screenshots of Animal Crossing on the Gamecube and have heard a lot of good things about it. I've been thinking of getting it but I'm not sure if it's worth it. You see, Animal Crossing isn't for sale in the UK (not that I know of) and I can buy it on a site I know. It's an NTSC version with a Freeloader for £45. If I get it, will I be doing the right thing?

It's great for a fortnight or so, but i found it boring after that as i felt i had done everything. If you know someone with a different village and get them to bring it over on their memory card it adds life.

The missus loves it and she hates computer games.

Definately worth £20. Although Animal Crossing 2 is supposedly out soon.

I might get it if I can get rid of my games, they're in the gaming classified if your interested. I need to get at least £35 all together cos I need a freeloader too unless I can get someone to trade their NTSC Cube for my PAL Cube but I don't think anyone has the US MKDD and the Zelda Collector's Edition Disc.

Animal Crossing is great if you have few people playing it. The only problems that might occur are the arguments that arise when your "friendly" neighbour digs up all the nice fossils and such like.

Good tips to really bug people are to plant sea scallops in the ground. You will get someone really excited about digging up a fossil then they get a useless scallop...... hehehehe

You can also trample others gardens, fill up their mailbox with spam, dig up their trees and generally be a pain. Or you can be really nice and do things to help them.

Great game!

I too was interested in Animal Crossing and owning a UK PAL Gamecube.

When looking through ebay I found people advertising Australian PAL versions.

Does anybody here buy/ import their games from Aus?

I sometimes buy from Australia. I know CD-wow is Hong Kong but the games are Austalian. I've head bad things about www.importmadness.co.uk which is where I want to get the game and the freeloader. Plus you get a fee memory card with Animal Crossing!

Animal crossing should be about that price everywhere as its been re-released in the US on player choice (platinum bargain bucket)..

So try tronixweb.com and dvdboxoffice.. or dvdsoon..

No, import madness are a british company and I personally have had no problems (with few orders though), and have heard no problems with them before (armybloke, who said they've had problems, and what was wrong)

Import Madness had many problems with the release of FFXI, they charged everyone on the day of release but didn't send out any orders for days. Many people were still waiting 2 weeks after release for the shipping confirmation.

They all got their games eventually, but it can be annoying if you have been charged for the game before it is shipped as it makes it very difficult to cancel orders.
