Thanks: Gave 0, Got 1 | We Need a SNES Section - Please Vote
Hello everybody,
I think SNES is one of the classic and most successful mediums ever produced by Nintendo. I would suggest the forum members to give us SNES fans a section as well. Please all those SNES fans out there support yourself
It would be an excellent opportunity to share and read SNES related stuff in one section.
Thank you

Hi BrownCan & welcome to the forums
The SNES was indeed a great console, infact still is if you still own one The thing is once a console is superceeded and the releases stop, it doesn't tend to get talked about very much, at least not to warrent its own sub-forum.
The N64 was also highly regarded as great console by many people but likewise does not get discussed much now with exception the odd thread now and then.
Here on the forums we try to only keep sub-forums that are at least fairly active, if they only receive the occasional post every few weeks(or even months) then they only serve to seperate themselves from the sections that people view more regularly, hence the reason for the general Nintendo forum where any console or handheld not included in the sub-forum list can be discussed.
Of course if you wish to open a SNES thread to remeber the classics etc. then feel free to do so, you'll likely get a few people join in to share and discuss their favourites.

Whilst i agree the snes was a fantastic console, asking for a snes section would start a deluge of people asking for other sections too! we want an n64 section and a nes section would surely follow and let's face it they are no longer mainstream and obviously now classed as retro machines.
Maybe asking for a retro section would be a better idea?. On that note i asked for a retro section in other gaming a while back, that didn't materialise either, i maybe wrong but i think this has to be an admin job and isn't as simple as it first appears.
For now any rattling about retro gaming has/should be posted in other gaming Worth a try for a snes section though i suppose, good luck getting your wish.
*Edit* Teach me to not refresh before posting Tetlee has summed it up pretty well.

Sounds fine for the moment but the reason was how can I and other SNES fans are going to find posts related to SNES if they are in the general section. We can exchange cheats, walkthroughs and even trade or barter SNES titles and information, that section will become pretty active.
But anyways, tetlee's justification is fine. I know Haggler, but I'm concerned about my SNES which I lost to a 3DO.
Shucks why?????

I think SNES/NES/N64 etc stuff do quite well over in the Nintendo "parent" section (......this one).

I play emus now but have my snes at my parents, I prefer the original console but its pretty much impossible to play roms esp roms of translated games! plus its the bulkiness.
I still have my Snes Rpgs complete like Secret Of Mana, Evermore, Terranigma(got it for £10 new and sealed when first released!) Illusion of Time, Mystic Quest etc.

| I know its bulky but its a collector's item now clean and keep it. Don't know if you're an ardent snes lover but I would love to have it as collection.
Roms give you what you couldn't have in the past but cannot equal the feel and romance with it. Cmon, you are playing it on your PC, where is the enjoyment buddy
Illusion of time! hmmm I'm getting confused here. Is that another name of Illusion of Gia? Help me.
Thank you

Thank you | Its the European name, I play on pc too as its great upscaling it and filtering it and save states etc, and no 10 minutes adding game genie/ar codes for the slightest nudge of the cart to crash it.

While we're at it, I would like a subforum for the Prinztronic Tournament VC6000.

why not have a 'retro' sub forum.
this can then encapsulate ALL ?
