Connecting a SNES

Is there anyway of connecting a SNES without running it through the RF? When I plug it into my tv it really detriments the picture from the ariel, even when the console is not turned on.

If it can be converted to something, any idea what it could be converted to?

Any help would be much appretiated.

Cheers
