Wii Games UK/America

Hi everyone,
Is there anyone who could help in this matter, at present I am in America and we have been informed that if we purchase Wii games here that they will not work in the UK, on the other hand other people have said that they will work, so at the present moment I am confused.

Help please as we go home tomorrow.

Hi,

I'm afraid if you have a UK PAL Wii console then the US games will not work as all Wii games are region coded.

You could always consider buying a US console along with a few games & selling your PAL console when you get home, then buy all your future games online from the likes of videogamesplus, playasia etc.

The people who say that the US games will play on a UK PAL wii console have probably had their UK console modified using a chip as this removes the region restrictions.

However, if you then play a US game which attempts to Auto update a uk console it WILL kill the UK wii

I'm not condoning or advising chipping in any way, simply stating it removes the region restrictions.
