Why can't my TV display my N64?

Hi guys, please help me. I am trying to play my N64 through an s-video cable connection which I had bought off ebay.
This is on my Samsung HDTV.
I have tried just the s-video cable, just the three coloured cables, and all cables connected together and I still have no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Cheers,
Stew

Have you tried the lead and console on another TV, just to check that it isn't the lead playing up?

Ive tried that mate and yeah it didn't work. Turns out I had to really clean the cartridge connector and also the game.
It has been sitting in the spare room for a few years so thats maybe why.

Thanks for your help though matey.

Re: Why can't my TV display my N64?

If it's a PAL N64 then it will only output composite. If it's NTSC then it should ouput S-video as well.
It is also possible to mod a NTSC N64 to ouput RGB SCART but I don't think it's possible with PAL N64.

If you ever find your games arent working , try just putting them half way in, works everytime. Same for all cartridge based systems
