Logitech Announces Harmony Touch Universal Remote

Featuring tap, swipe and scroll control

Logitech has announced the next generation of its Harmony remotes, the Logitech Harmony Touch.

Designed to make finding your preferred entertainment as easy as possible, the Logitech Harmony Touch lets you add, remove and re-order up to 50 favorite channel icons from your respective cable or satellite provider on its 2.4-inch color touch-screen which features tap, swipe and scroll capabilities.

"The Logitech Harmony Touch represents the next evolution for the universal remote," said Joerg Tewes, vice president of Logitech's digital home business group. "Today, people prize convenience and want home-entertainment systems that are impressive and easy to use. With this in mind, Logitech designed a remote that makes it simple for people to customize their experience, and feel in control of their systems like never before."

The Logitech Harmony Touch, they tell us, is compatible with more than 225,000 home-entertainment devices and more than 5,000 brands, and it can control as many as 15 devices.

The Logitech Harmony Touch is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in October 2012, for a suggested retail price of around £149.

Thanks, it looks great. My Harmony One is showing a few battle scars so this might be a perfect replacement.

I really like the look of the new touch screen, but no doubt Apple will launch a lawsuit against Logitech for the 'use of a small x in a circle to remove icons'!

Looks nice, but there is something about the top keys that makes me think it is upside down when standing upright, maybe just too used to the Harmony One.

Agreed can't be comfortable to hold one handed and speed through all those adverts. Thankfully on first impression the Harmony One is safe from upgradeitis.

Let's just hope that they have spent sometime upgrading their god awful software interface as well. Im currently using a Harmony 1100u which, for the last year and a half, I havent even been able to update using my Mac.

Amen to that! I have to run Windows on my Mac using Fusion when I need to update my 1100 and 900.

Do like the of this though but will no doubt do an RF version which is what I would like. Great looking and good features though, lets hope it delivers.

wonder if they will ever catch up with philips and design a handset that you can actually programme everything WYSIWYG from the touch screen ala prestigo style

Philips Pronto software with a Harmony One remote would be the ultimate package.

The transport controls are in the wrong place on the new Touch. The Harmony One has them in the perfect spot. All the One needs is some hard buttons for red-green-yellow-blue
