Founded in 1998 as an R&D company by physicist, former NASA engineer and renowned audio designer, Dr. Godehard Guenther, soundmatters have a couple of new portable audio solutions for today's crop of mobile devices in the foxL v2 Bluetooth and foxL Platinum loudspeaker. Both are compatible with smartphones, laptops, iPads and tablets, iPods and MP3 players and mobile gaming systems with soundmatters promising a concert hall experience is to be had with both while the Platinum delivers 'booming bass performance' thanks to high resolution, high fidelity patented audio technology.
The foxL Platinum incorporates CSR’s apt-X circuitry so music Bluetooth streamed from apt-X equipped devices (like Apple Snow Leopard & Lion computers) delivers virtual CD quality sound wirelessly along with improved sound/picture sync for movies and gaming.
Two 1-inch diameter, patented, Linear Magnetic Drive Twoofers tuned to 100Hz deliver eight full octaves of music for smooth vocals & extended bass well beyond any similar-sized speaker. Patented FlatMagic bass radiator, originally developed for the SUBstage home theatre subwoofer, extends bass by an entire octave… and the protective rear grille doubles as a foldout speaker stand.
Bluetooth also allows the foxL to double as a high-quality wireless speakerphone for conferencing and hands-free in car use. And it doesn’t stop there - with an optional fitting, the unit can also be affixed to cycles providing the ultimate exercise entertainment.
Both are slated for a June release with the foxL v2 Bluetooth priced at £169 and foxL Platinum loudspeaker at £209.
