Can anyone tell me how to switch off data roaming on my Samsung chat please?

Welcome to AVF

Assuming you have a Samsung Chat 335, I don't thing there's any way to just switch off data whilst roaming. You can however switch off the network which will also disable data. Go to Menu - Settings - Phone and select Flight Mode. Don't forget that you can enable wifi whilst abroad and use that for free to surf, chat etc.

Thank you so much for your help. I guess that would mean no calls or texts as well? In the end I rang 02 ( again!!) and they agreed to switch off my daughters ability to get onto the net. Phew!

Download an app from the Android market called APN· switch, it's a widget which allows you to switch mobile data on and off, and just tested it and while data is off, calls can be received.

Also if you go into the phone settings, there should be an option under mobile network settings to switch of data roaming. Not sure about the Samsung chat though.

Its a featurephone not an Android handset. If it's a 335. ( Chat is a family of handsets with QWERTY keyboards)
