Hello Chaps,
I'm looking for some advice ref to the above setup which is a new Dell XPS laptop which has the latest Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-Card installed and the new Linksys WRT150N router, now they work but i cannot get them to work at the extra speed of anywhere near the suggested 300mbs performance all i get is the standard 54meg, am i missing something to get this working right ?
Looking forward to any response

If it says 54mbps all the time, it probably means the router is set to G mode in its config.
I'm not very familiar with Linksys routers, but usually there's an IP that you type into your browser to access the router settings. Somewhere in there you might be able to change it to N mode.
Jezzer
EDIT: I think the IP is 192.168.1.1. You could also try 192.168.1.2.

Jezzer | Hi Jezzer, thanks for the response I have been into the settings and tried changeing to N mode only and i completely loose service between the laptop and router, i then have to go back in and change it back to mixed to get it working again

Oh dear, that doesn't sound too good.
The only thing I can think of is that there's several different versions of Draft-N wireless. Maybe youre Dell N card isn't compatible with the router's version of Draft-N. I'm just guessing though.

Jez | That is what i feared the only other way i can see is to get a USB/Adapter from Linksys but kind of defeats the object of haveing a built in card

Yeah, I would've waited until there's an industry-standard 'N' wireless before buying. What exactly were you hoping to do with your wireless network? 54mbps is fine in most circumstances I find - I can stream 720p over my Netgear G router to my laptop no probs!

Unfortunatly Dell laptops wireless are normally pretty bad, I've had 5/6 dells now and all of them are very bad at wireless. Actually the new D630 I have is the best of the lot but it still struggles at times |
