Netgear Stora Help

Bought one of these from someone a few months back but never got round to using it. Just bought two disks which were brand new, stuck them in and plugged it all in.

The hard disk lights have both been flashing for an hour or so, does this mean the disks are formatting?

I can see a network device called stora from my mac but cant access it or see the disks. Im also having no luck running the setup process.

Any advice?

They don't seem to cover either of the questions I had.

Can you see the Stora using the Desktop agent?

From the manual, it sounds like it's either formatting or building the array.

Page 12:

LED status indicators for Disk1 and Disk 2 located on front of unit.

On: Disk installed
Solid Green: Drive is operating normally.
Blinking Green: The Stora is booting up or shutting down.
Also indicates activity such as copying data.

Solid Amber: Drive is not ready, however, if solid amber
constantly, it indicates a problem with the drive.
Troubleshooting tips - try one or more of the following:
• check that cables are securely connected and power is on.
• remove and then reinsert the disk.
• turn off Stora and turn it on again to reboot the system

Page 24:

4. Insert the hard disk.
a. The label must face the outside of the unit.
b. Slide the disk into place in either slot.
c. Lock the drive in place and close the cover.
The green LED on the front of Stora will blink continuously until the installed drive build process is complete.
d. A pop up window will appear asking if you want to use the disk for “max capacity” or
“max protection”.
• RAID1 will maximize your protection.
• JBOD will maximize your capacity.
See “RAID1” on page 108 and “JBOD” on page 109 for details about these options

Think i've got it, had to reset it and remove the previous users accounts from the device. Didnt seem to reset properly the first couple of times I tried both via the reset button and the cd app.

Cheers for your help.

Right, having another issue!

Got it all set up how I want it with the 2 drives shown as 1 large drive. Can access it from my mac as I can see it as a shared drive and can drag and drop files and create folders. I cant then find these folders on my WDTV, I can find the Stora as both a network share and UPNP device but it says all the folders are empty.

When I use the stora web client to upload the files to the device I can find them however. I would like to be able to drag and drop to it like I can do with my LaCie networkspace NAS.

Any ideas?
