Mix And Match Powerline Adapters

Currently I have a pair of Netgear XEB1004 85Mbps Powerline adapters. One is connected to my Virgin router and the other is connected to my PS3. This all works perfectly. If I wanted to connect another device (a PC) would it matter if I bought a Powerline adapter from a different vendor? I have been looking at the Comtrend Powerline adapters.

You can simply buy a third 85 mb/s HomePlug (any brand) and plug it in. You can also expand the number of ports on a HomePlug by using one of these for example: TP-Link 5-Port 10/100 Unmanaged Mini Desktop Switch (TL-SF1005D) Plastic Case: Mcab: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

However, you can't mix HomePlugs, which is what you have, with the Comtrend adapters because they are to a different standard.

Thanks for that

I thought because the Netgear was described as powerline on Amazon it would be OK with the Comtrend. Anyway I bough a Solwise 85mbs adapter and it works perfectly.
