moving from pc to mac...

For the past 15 years Ive used PC software for recording, programming etc. Cubase with vst plug ins. Im thinking of moving to Mac, is this wise? Partly because Im getting rid of all the PCs in the house, and I have a spare macbook that I can use for reording, and eventually using live.

Traditionally I used to record a backing track for the band from my Cubase mix and just play that with on a mini disk into the mixer.

Would like to do things more on the fly now with keyboards and sequencing software (any recomendations?). Some equipment Id like to connect are my Roland MC303, Korg X5d, Korg MS2000, as well as some software synths.

Any hints would be appreciated

Re: moving from pc to mac...

sounds like you need to be taking a look at ableton live for your sequencing needs and vst hosting requirements, i've been using it on and off since live 6 on macs and on the whole it's a rock solid performer and the learning curve is quite shallow. Overall the potential for live sound manipulation is second to none imho as no other daw quite lives up to the flexibility of live, a good solid audio/midi interface would also be a worthy investment if you're planing to bang it all through live also..

Ableton - Home there are some great artist vids over there showing just what the software is capable of..
