Looking for a new electric guitar for £300.

Hi all.

I'm looking for a new electric guitar to replace my old Westfield Les Paul.
I have a total budget of £300. I am interested in getting an Epiphone Les Paul standard but I'm also thinking about getting a Ibanez ART400.
I obviously love the Les Paul shape but I will consider considering something else.
I already own a Squire 60's classic vibe and I've owned a Yamaha Pacifica in the past so I don't really want to get another one of those.

I play blues & rock so something that has a deep rich sound would be preferable.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Looks like a great guitar and it's a Squire custom!
I'm a little unsure if it sounds a little "Bright" for my tastes though?

I will see if they have one in my local guitar shop and give it a demo.

Re: Looking for a new electric guitar for £300.

Can I interest sir in a nice PRS SE? The Standards or Single Cuts go for around £300. It's a PRS so is going to be better quality than most in that price range. Solid mahogany body and pair of humbuckers so it should give you the rock sound you're after.

Alternatively Tokai and Edwards are very highly rated for Les Paul copies.

I can recommend Ibanez and PRS guitars, but if I was going PRS I'd also recommend the single cut range, which is the Les Paul shape, but busts your budget.

I have the PRS SE Soapbar II. It's a lot of guitar for the money but I believe now discontinued.

PM me an e-mail address & I'll send you something that may be of interest.

Re: Looking for a new electric guitar for £300.

Hi Bill,

Have you decided on that guitar yet? I used to own an Epiphone Les Paul Std. but sold it about 3 years ago to fund my AV kit

Very good guitar for the price and apart from a Gibson LP, the best Les Paul you could get. I'm looking to buy a guitar, but something lighter.

Yes I ended up getting an Epiphone Les Paul standard in black and it's so much better than my old Westfield LP was!

See the attachments below.

Cheers.
