Soundproofing Tips?

hi fellow musicians. Ok so ive a new project started and were playing in my mates garage, however its a built up area and need to soundproof 3 of the walls, the 4th being made of thick dense solid stone. Anyone else done this cheaply, if so what material did you use, find effective? It doesnt have to be completely sound dead, but as long as it doesnt penetrate the houses around. I as thinking 6 inch standard foam from floor to ceiling may do the trick

cheers peeps
