You know, 3 or 4 months ago i was getting pretty excited for his new album. I was hoping that the 4.5 years gap from his previous album would allow him enough breathing space to craft some decent songs and maybe at least get close to the quality of his first 3 albums. But with every song i've heard so far, the excitement has been totally destroyed. He's had his best friend die, he has divorced (yet again) and must have had a lot of other things happen in the last 5 years to rap about, but we get the same crappy fart gags he kept using on the Encore album and has decided to call out a load of people who were old news 2 years ago.

It's like the guy has forgotten how he used to rap, so he grabbed one of his albums at random (Encore), picked a track at random (Ass Like That) and then somewhow convinced himself to use that stupid arabian accent in every single song. I admit the accent doesn't seem quite as bad in 3am but it's still there and really annoying.

I really hope i'm wrong and the rest of the album is much better, but then why would you put out a couple of irritating tracks for your first singles if that was the case? Sorry to rant a bit but it's totally killed any hype i had for Relapse.

I still play The Marshall Mathers LP all the time though and i think it will always be his best album, but i was kind of hoping for a 'Marshall Mathers: Part 2' but it seems more like 'Encore: Part 2' so far.
