forgot 80's mixtape

random question,
sometime in the late 80's i had a mix tape, one of the old C60's i think that a mate copied for me at school. I seem to remember it being nonstop dance music, like the mash up stuff MOS are putting out now
i'm trying to find what the tape was, all i can rememer is the sample that strike used on their 90's old school tune "ur sure do" think it was donna allen serious, but that was just one of tunes on the whole tape and i cant rememver any of the others.

an ideas

Re: forgot 80's mixtape

donna allen's serious was the vocal sample on strikes u sure do and night in motion by cubic 22 was the keyboard riff

if it was a tape it could have been from anything. people weren't really doing mashups in the 80s, it took off a bit more in the 90s with people spinning acapellas over instrumentals, on turntables, not even samplers

it sounds like the tracks were the type of things on the original streetsounds collections, but they weren't dj mixed together or mashups. i have the original vinyl of quite a few of them. they were quite influential compilations at the time

Re: forgot 80's mixtape

thanks for the reply, i had feared it was a one off, not mainstream. might have to try and find the cassete, probably in the parrents loft.. and then convert it to something all together less analogue.. thats if the tape hasnt deteroiated so bad that all is left is hiss..
